AI image generators make it easy to create photorealistic pictures. Platforms and regulators increasingly require these to be labelled so viewers are not misled.
The current rules
The EU AI Act requires marking AI-generated images, and major platforms add or require AI labels for realistic synthetic imagery. Disclose in the caption, alt text or directly on the image.
